Attorney Profile: Elliot C. Mendelson, Ph.D.	Elliot C. Mendelson founded Mendelson IP in 2009. His practice focuses on patent prosecution, counseling and opinions, due diligence, reissue and reexamination proceedings, and intellectual property litigation.  He also serves as local counsel for out of state attorneys with cases pending before the District Court of Delaware.

He has also managed the FTO work for one of the largest and most historic collaborations between a pharmaceutical company and a biotech company. Dr. Mendelson’s technical focus has an emphasis in the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology including: Antibodies Biologics Blood Products Drug Discovery Gene therapy Modified Crops Separation/Purification processes Small molecules Vaccines Prior to founding Mendelson IP, Dr. Mendelson was an attorney at the law firm of Marshall Gerstein & Borun LLP in Chicago.  Before that, Dr. Mendelson was an associate at the law firm of Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP in Wilmington.
	Dr. Mendelson received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. While attending law school, he worked full-time as a Law Clerk/Patent Agent at Howrey & Simon.
	Immediately prior to entering the legal profession, Dr. Mendelson worked as a Clinical Research Specialist drafting Investigational New Drug Applications (INDs) for the Regulatory Affairs Branch of the National Cancer Institute.
	Dr. Mendelson received his B.S. in Biology from S.U.N.Y at Binghamton. He went on to receive his Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Virginia, where his research focused on mechanisms of viral assembly.
	Following his doctorate at the University of Virginia, Dr. Mendelson went on to two postdoctoral positions; first as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Purdue University Cancer Center and then as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
